fpPS4 - A PlayStation 4 Emulator For Windows
fpPS4 is a PlayStation 4 emulator for Windows that's in development by Red Prig (Pavel) via Github. It's the fourth PS4 emulator to surface online, after GPCS4, Spine, and Kyty.
Despite the fact that many PS4 games are only available on Sony's consoles, there are plenty of PC gamers who want to play them. That's why there are more PS4 emulators on the market than ever before, each one hoping to get their software to 100% compatibility for all PlayStation games soon.
As far as the current state of emulation goes, there are only four emulators that are actively in development – GPCS4, Kyty, Spine, and fpPS4. Of those, fpPS4 is a new one, having only recently made it to beta version 0.01, and showing some significant progress.
It can run 28 commercial games and 13 homebrew titles at this stage, with another 20 games that can load up some of their in-game graphics but aren't playable. That's a great start, especially compared to a few different PS4 emulators that can boot up a few hundred games but a lot of them aren't playable.
The only downside is that it's still a very early stage, and there are a few bugs to be expected. The good news is that the developer is working hard to make sure their software can run as many PS4 games as possible, and they're not afraid to take risks if they believe they can achieve that goal.
